R&D internship with BISAG-N (Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics), a scientific society under the Government of India focused on e-governance and geo-informatics projects, under the mentorship of Senior Scientist Manoj Pandya.
Implemented a smart app based on Elrefaei et al. (2015) to automate electricity meter reading and bill generation for utility workflows.
Methods
- Extracted meter readings from videos in real time using matching and feature extraction algorithms
- Built an end-to-end pipeline from video capture to automated bill generation
Outcome: Received the Innovation Challenge Award from the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Gujarat.
